| Name: Kazuma Style Taijutsu Clan: Kazuma Clan Element: Wind Appearance: Offensive Stance: When attacking, the practitioner squares up against their opponent with their hands completely relaxed and the front arm bent at a 45 degree angle. The back arm is rested in front of their abdominal muscles with the hand pointed at the target and weight is focused mainly on the front foot. This isn't to say that they are easily swept off of their feet though. When knocked off balance, they use that momentum to carry themselves in that particular direction and spring up with a kick from that swept leg. Defensive Stance: While defending the weight is shifted to the back foot but the hands are in the same place, only with the hands balled into fists and fingers pointed back at themselves. The reasoning for weight based on the back leg is to put a sufficient amount of weight into a counter strike. Neutral Stance: When neither attacking nor defending, the practitioner is in the classic horse stance with the legs spread wide and bent at a ninety degree angle; knees and toes facing the front. The shoulders are squared and both hands are balled into fists, resting at the hips. This is an extremely hard stance to hold, and is only used for channeling and meditation. Description: When attacking, the user focuses wind chakra in the areas of their bodies. This changes depending on where they are striking, and what limb they are striking with. Once an attack is successfully landed, the cutting winds surrounding the area will slice open the target. Full on blows will create deeper cuts while glancing strikes will create nicks and scratches. While defending the user will not be able to accurately use the cutting wind, but instead will attempt to knock the aggressor off balance with a brief gust no stronger than a sharp push. Katas: Dance of the Gale: The movements of the practitioner are all circular waves based on deception and misleading. While they jump up with the feet, they make an attempt to open palm strike, and when using the hands, they will strike with the legs. This particular branch is extremely hard to follow if one has not seen it used before. But even with some defensive experience, they will change the strategy accordingly. When a strike is successful, there will be a punch of wind that effectively doubles their striking strength. Because of the versatility of this kata, when dodged, they will simply strike with the closest available limb.
Effects at rank: Genin- When at this level the gusts of wind simply increase the damage of their punch. This is capable of knocking a person off balance and breaking bones when struck in weak areas such as joints.
Chuunin- The wind takes up much more space and can effectively damage any area of contact around the fist within a six inch radius.
Sp. Jounin- No upgrade
Jounin- At this level there is enough wind in the strike to deflect blades via pillowing. Because of the swirling motion around their hands it pushes the blade away, allowing for a potentially devastating counter attack.
Sannin/ Kage- The ultimate mastery of this technique upgrades the force of wind to that of a hand grenade, shattering bones and crushing almost anything that it comes in contact with.
This technique is not without its faults however. With the aid of fire, the opponent may use the abundance of oxygen around the practitioners hands to severely burn them and render the technique useless depending on where they are burned.
Dance of the Whipping Wind: This kata is rather wild but extremely graceful at the same time. Much rather than direct blunt trauma strikes, the practitioner aims for extremely fast and well placed slicing motions with the intention to make deep cuts in their targets flesh. If the practitioner is skilled in either medicine or assassination, they will know where exactly to strike and how to strike it to cause the most damage. The kata is not meant for up front damage, but a small amount of bleeding from numerous cuts on the body is bound to slow anyone after a long enough amount of time.
Effects at Rank:
Genin- They get a basic understanding of how the cutting works but there is an extremely narrow margin in which they can deal the slicing damage. When there is a glancing blow it feels like nothing more than a scrape or paper cut. But when directly struck with the edges of the hand or fingers it is more like a knife wound.
Chuunin- At the intermediate stage of this kata the user becomes much more familiar with the technique and is able to do more damage with the glancing blows; the result is that they are much deeper cuts and draw blood. However when contact is made, there is no real upgrade.
Sp. Jounin- No change.
Jounin- The advanced stage of this kata allows the user to incorporate individual fingers into the striking. This makes for a much more useful cutting method and full on contact is just like the slice of a katana. When a glancing blow is made, the cut is like a knife and draws much more blood than before. At this stage they are able to fight against swords with only their hands as the wind generated is able to deflect and parry like a real blade.
Sannin/ Kage- Complete mastery of this kata brings about an unspeakable amount of damage to those struck with a full blow. The cutting wind is then able to cut through bones and damage steel. The glancing blow is like that of a katana and the fingers are able to be used as knives. It takes an extremely long amount of harsh training to even attempt this stage of combat. And even as a Kage, it is still very difficult.
Duration: This technique cannot be used forever, but when used sparsely and only when needed it can last extremely long amounts of time (Ten posts) before the user begins to feel the results of using their chakra. Cool Down: It depends on how much energy is used in the close combat. | |
