-Shōton[Miasma Release]: A Miasma (瘴気, Shōki) nature, yielding Miasma Release (瘴遁, Shōton) ninjutsu. Before the germ theory of disease, ailments were though to be transmitted through "miasma", a toxic gas or a bad air in general.

-Muton[Fume Release]: A Fume (煙霧, Enmu) nature, yielding Fume Release (霧遁, Muton) ninjutsu. Fumes are gases and smokes that are dangerous to inhale.


-Clan History-
~The Return[The Destruction of The Five Great Nations]~
The first coming of the Tailed beasts known as Bijuu ripped apart the world, which created five new lands each with their own story. The great Kerumi Clan had fallen so far because of the damned Bijuu. Yet, one Kerumi Clan elder lived through the great coming of the tailed beasts. The man’s name was Janus Kerumi and he was the last Kerumi clan member alive. The man traveled around the new world until he found a land in which volcanoes and heat rained over everything.

The new land was the perfect place for a Suton [Smoke Release] user like himself and there his abilities evolved. He had found a couple of people inside the mouth of a dormant Volcano building a new nation out of it. He decided to live there and help build up the village, which would be called Kazangakure sometime in the near future. Now, the man held a very powerful bloodline in his veins and he had to reproduce to get the clan up and running again, which leads into the great Hyūmu [Hyuumu] Clan of today.

Janus was the father of six sons and three daughters. This was the beginning of the Rebirth of the Kerumi Clan, or so he thought. Janus’ body had basically evolved in the environment of the volcanic land, which would be called the Land of Volcanoes later. The evolution of the bloodline was unbelievable. Janus had developed and mastered two new releases, which went together with the smoke produced by his body. Theses two Releases would never be in the same body again after Janus passed away.

Now, the sons and daughters of Janus were all able to use smoke and one of the other releases, which was strange at the time. Yet, the clan lived on within theses children of the last Kerumi, Janus Ignis Kerumi. Now, Janus had changed his name to Hyūmu [Hyuumu] shortly after discovering the first side Release [Muton {Fume Release}]. The clan would live under that name for the rest of the clan existence. Even though, Janus had the ability to have both Side releases of the clan that gene seems to have dead and disappeared with him. Thus, the clan can only access and master one other side release of the clan.

-Kekkei Genkai Information/Description-
• The evolution of the Hyūmu [Hyuumu] clan no long has the mutation of the two clans within their blood. Their genes have fully taken on the former mutation and made it an innate ability. Even though, their bodies have taken on the fully power of the clan as an innate ability. They still have very unique bodily structures, which basically makes them immune to their own smoke as well as other Hyūmu [Hyuumu] clan members, which is simply a filter in the lungs that basically break down the Smoke Particles out of the body or to be reused as their own smoke, and the eye lashes are very long and the tear ducks constantly flush out the eyes. As an added bonus, a thin filament also covers the top of the eye to help prevent from smoke damage.

• The Main release of the Clan is Suton, or Smoke Release. The member’s body is uniquely structured to be able to release their Suton elemental smoke through any of the pores on their body. The Suton Elemental smoke is split into three different colors representing power level, like White is the weakest; followed by Grey, and finally Black being the strongest. The smoke that is formed inside the body of the Hyūmu [Hyuumu] clan member is a little bit heavy then normal smoke. So, only a huge gust of wind will blow it away. The White smoke is considered the weakest as it will only make people cough and will irritate the eyes of non clan members. The Grey smoke is a bit more dangerous as it causing immediate coughing and those of non clan members will have blurry vision. This stage is where genjutsu is applied via smoke method. The Black smoke is the most dangerous of all the levels because it is poisonous and those who are trapped in a closed room with black smoke will pass out in 3 posts, and die in 5. However, simple covering your mouth with a wet cloth will protect you from the damage. However, the eyes of the non clan members will be blurred so bad that dodging, attacking, and blocking by normal means will be useless. Thus people often go blind for a short period of time.

• The Clan’s Main Release can be split into two Side releases, which enhance a characteristic of the main release. The Shōton, or Miasma Release, is a release that deals with the poison characteristic of Suton, or Smoke Release. Miasma, according to Dictionary dot com, is noxious exhalations from putrescent organic matter; poisonous effluvia or germs polluting the atmosphere. Even though, the release revolves around that basic thing. The release also revolves around lacing poisons, diseases, and parasites into the normal Suton Element breathing life to Miasma release. Miasma is only the decomposing matter in a vapor form, but the Miasma that the Hyūmu [Hyuumu] members have add in various poisonous mixtures and parasites along with deadly diseases. Also, Miasma, according to Wiki, is considered to be a poisonous vapor or mist filled with particles from decomposed matter (miasmata) that caused illnesses, which is unusually I.D. by its foul smell. The Clan release doesn’t have an unusually smell to it, which it basically smells like smoke. Unlike, it’s forefather Suton, or Smoke Release, it isn’t draw or broken up by Suiton, or water release, techniques. This is what makes the Side release harder to deal with. The release must first be struck with Raiton, or lightning release, or Katon, or Fire Release, to break up anything living inside of the smoke. Then, the smoke will be draw to water puddles or lakes to be broken down and reduced to harmless nothing.

• The last and most likely the most underestimated side release of the Hyūmu [Hyuumu] Clan is Muton, or Fume release. Muton, or Fume release, revolves using toxic fumes mixed with the main Suton, or Smoke release, that the user’s body gives off naturally. Theses toxic fumes can be used in a variety of different ways with unlimited combination, just like the Shōton, or Miasma Release, can mix and create various different parasites to fuse with the smoke. Now, the effects of theses fumes can be toxic, drug-related, or anything the user’s mind can think of. Now, this release doesn’t need any addition thing to make it affected by water. This release is affected by water, or Suiton, just like the main release is, which is why it is usually held in a higher place then the Shōton, or Miasma Release.

-Limitations/Weakness-
• Suton Weakness: Although the clan is strong, water type jutsu will attract the smoke and negate the effects of it.

• Shōton Weakness: First, Struck with Raiton [Lightning Release] or Katon [Fire Release] to destroy any trace of Miasma Release inside of it. Now, the smoke that is left is affected more by the water in the air or water near-by because of the sudden change of its properties. So, if it is really humid; the Suton will simply break down in the air.

• All members of the Clan can only have one of the Side Releases. So, either Suton and Shōton or Suton and Muton.

• The Training for the Side Release can be done at any time once grey smoke is obtained. Thus, The side release can be combined with ANY type of smoke once it is done.
