The Calm

Dante could found sitting on a bench outside of a bar within the village known as Yukigakure. It was dark, the snow covered street illuminated by the moonlight as it glistened off the falling snow flakes and covered the area. Dante was in one of those peaceful moments after giving his mind to rest. He had recently come back from a rather annoying mission involving Amegakure. As he sat in the warmth of his own clothing and hood, he would breath slowly in and out of his mouth. As he did this the heat of his breath against the cold air would make it seem as if he was breathing smoke. He would be sitting in the middle of this bench that was big enough for at least three people. His arms resting along the back edge at his side while his head hung low. From another's perspective, they'd have to wonder if he was sleeping or not. He was not sleeping however, his eyes were watching from beneath the darkness of his hood.

So quiet here. This peaceful atmosphere is quite nice. I just need this for awhile. I hope nothing interrupts this. He was thinking to himself. It was rare that he had a moment to just relax like this. It seemed that ever since he defected from Kirigakure, he had always been on edge. Doing work for the Yukigakure as a favor for his stay within this village was no help either. Not to get this confused, Dante wasn't a member of the Yukigakure village. Just someone in its good graces. Dante sighed. He had brought most of this stress on himself but that was the price he had to pay for power right?

Anyway, Dante would sit here for awhile. Getting all the relaxation he could before something else needed his attention.

The dark hid Akki well. And he wasnt in the mood for any major confrontation, maybe someone to talk to. His body still had some sparks from his previous jutsu since it wasnt really used for what it needed to be. The land of snow, obviously named for the constant cold, and frozen precipitation. Akki noticed a man sitting outside a bar on a bench. Going against all odds Akki shrugged and walked over, sitting as far away as possible from the man. Akki leaned back, resting his head against the wall. Ankoku... Yes? Do a little recon will you? There was an internal nod as the dark creature slithered silently and unnoticeably from his body in the shape of a serpent, though any serpent that looked like that would be immediately thought ill will towards.

Ankoku slid around the building and up the side of the wall, going to the roof. Akki's vision was split in two, seeing with his own eyes and Ankoku's.The dark held no secrets from them, more in fact it whispered it to them. Once Ankoku reached the roof his body roiled and shifted into the shape of a bird, which again was black and had an evil look to it. The night sky hid Ankoku acceptionally as he flew through the air, surveying the surroundings.

Akki waited to see if the man next to him would say anything...

Dante looked next to him as someone entered his realm of vision. The man tried to distance himself from Dante, a wise choice for Dante found it a little uncomfortable when random people entered his personal space. This man was mysterious to Dante. Dante didn't change his posture at all when the man sat down but he definitely had his eye on him, using his peripherals. Dante, through observation, tried to deduce where this man was from. From what he could tell he wasn't a man of these parts. Dante could only wonder the man's agenda for coming near him and not saying anything. Was he sent from Amegakure after him? Was he a ninja from Kirigakure to collect his head? Was he a traveling ninja from Kumogakure? All questions Dante couldn't answer himself at the moment. Yet the thought interrupted his moment of relaxation and put him on guard once more. He was always a cautious man.

Dante was not in the mood for fighting but if needed be he would have no issue with doing so. He figured he would go ahead and try to get things out in the open. The idea of just sitting quiet, waiting for something to happen wasn't to his liking at this moment. "Who are you and where are you from?" he said in a low tone. He didn't change his posture even when talking to the man, but he remained in his sight. This man's answer would let Dante know what to expect tonight.

Akki looked over at the hooded figure, which then asked him a question. Akki could see the sudden yet slight shift in behavior and posture. Ankoku flew down behind a building, taking the form of a small mouse. He scurried around and fused secretly back into Akki. Akki nodded slightly towards dante, which was meant for Ankoku but dante wouldnt know that. "My village...is under attack...or the village that took me in for the time being. Though i believe i will just be a traveler, training with whom will teach me and offering my services to those in need." Akki looked over at the man with his headband covering his eyes, a small smile playing at his lips.

Dante was being very attentive to him as he spoke. This boy was from a village in disarray. Dante took a look at his headband, the mist village. Dante wasn't all that excited to see someone from that village. So the Mist is under attack? I suppose it was only a matter of time with their weak ways. He was thinking to himself at the moment. Dante wasn't sure if he bought this boy's story completely. Afterall, the Mist ninja did have their deceitful ways.

"So you've come all this way, instead of helping them? Some might call that cowardice." he said plainly. Dante was simply teasing the boy, though it may not have been very obvious. He wanted to see how the boy would react to such talk. "And now you search for someone to train you, do you feel yourself incompetent?" he continued. Dante had a habit of saying things like they were. He wasn't necessarily trying to disrespect the kid, he was just speaking his mind. Dante would observe him carefully at this point.

Akki kept a straight face. "the truth is that my clan was destroyed long ago. i am the only survivor. There is a way to make more, but not yet for me. I did leave only because so did everyone else. i planned on going back once i was strong enough, which answers your second question. i find my self incompetent to even try and fight those...things...so yes i am looking for someone to train me so i can be stronger than i am now." Akki looked at the man and somewhat frowned. He looked down in his lap as he remembered his grandmother and a silent tear fell stained in black.

Dante listened to his little story, it seemed pretty sincere. However, something jumped out at him however. The boy described the attackers as 'things'. Dante was now curious as to what he was referring to. "What do you mean by 'things'?" he asked curiously. He wanted to know the exactly what happened by this point. "What exactly happened there?" he continued to ask. He still hadn't changed his posture however. One had to question if he really cared or not probably.

Akki sighed and leaned back on the bench. "The best word that describes them is zombies. They have regenerative abilities if you dont obliterate them enough. And thyey infect others obviously by biting or fluid transfer. I was barely able to escape with my life, but i did anyway." Akki looked down at his hands resting palms up on his thighs. "But i wasnt much help...and i wont be if i dont get stronger." He faced the hooded man. "That is why i wish to train and be tought. I wish to become stronger to help those who cannot help themselves. I dont care who trains me...as long as i can be trained and become stronger..." Akki rubbed his hand through his hair and sighed once more. The memory of not being able to help his own clan came flooding back again and again. Akki stood up and looked down the dark road. "well im sorry for taking up your time...warn as many people about the possible coming threat." He turned and started to walk away.

Zombies? This sounds like someone using the Impure World Resurrection technique, but....they infect people? I'll have to look into this I suppose. Dante was thinking over what the boy just told him. He watched as the boy got up from the bench and continue his talk about wanting to get stronger. It kind of reminded him of his self. For his entire reasoning for leaving the Mist was so that he could become stronger. However he was not trying to protect anyone like this boy. Yes, this boy was definitely more noble than Dante. Dante had grown to become quite selfish and cold hearted since leaving the village, but the fact that he listened to this boy showed there was still some remnant of his old self inside. As the boy began to walk off, Dante rose from his seat on the bench. He wasn't gonna go after the boy, but he would keep an eye out for him. As for now, he had something else he needed to do. Dante made a hand seal and would disappear from the area by flicker.
