The air was bitter to the sense of smell, a sort of eery feeling in the air that sent goosebumps through the body of a young man. His eyes were distant, staring at the cool, black sky above him. A soft breath leaving his lips before he could shiver once more. Something was a little off, but he figured it was more of the fact he was out on such a chilly night with no coat. Rubbing his arms he looked around, his bird having disappeared. "Zeke!" His voice carried, a small cloud of white billowing from his mouth with the air shaking slightly. Running a tongue along his lips, he let out a low whistle. There was silence. A moment of terror shot through his body. Was his bird okay? He scrunched his face in concern. He let out another low whistle and soon he felt his nerves stand on edge. It wasn't usual for the bird to take so long returning to him.
After another ten minutes of waiting he found the flapping wings in the distance, carrying a hurried speed. Instinctively, Kyou held out his arm, allowing the avian to crash into it. It staggered and clenched its talons deep into the boy's arms, looking around panicked. Suddenly he began flapping his wings, as if attempting to drag the boy away. There was no chance of that seeing as such a small bird would be unable to lift a human boy. Kyou gave a concerned look before resting a hand on the bird's finicky back, "Whoa.. calm down Zeke... what's a matter, huh?"
As a response, the bird nipped at Kyou's earring and let off a sort of worried sounding screech in his ear. Wincing a moment, he shouted in the sudden pain. "Ow! Was it necessary to yell?" Softer a moment, he turned his head to the bird, "But what's wrong? Why'd you have to go all the way out there for? And what do you mean something's wrong, everything looks fine from here.." If a bird could roll its eyes, Zeke would have, before screeching loudly once more in the boy's ears. Kyou let out another shout. "Ow! Not so loud!"
