A curtain of sunshine shed light into a dark domain, lighting the room as it passed through the large dome windows. Reflecting off of the wooden furniture and shedding light on its sleeping inhabitant, the figure shifted in the warmth of the covers. Sapphire orbs opened in distaste, a frown forming on the girl’s face as she grunted, lifting her body in annoyance. Rubbing her eyes, she moved her petite legs from her silver sheets, her feet touching the cold wooden floor below. The once warm fabric seemed to call out to her, hoping to embellish her in their comforting cocoon-like structure. The girl’s eyes tried desperately to adjust to the incoming sunshine as she grunted in response. She was never a morning person. In discomfort, she moved her shirt back to its rightful place, being that she moves much too often during her slumber. Stretching her limbs, she stands, her usual lovely curly hair awry. With sleep-ridden eyes, the girl inspected herself in the mirror, frowning slightly before moving to her drawer, picking out her usual attire: It consisted of a large white shirt with sleeves that hang loosely and end near her elbows. The neckline curves, making sure to not show cleavage and ends near the beginning of her arm. The shirt acts as an off the shoulder shirt with small pieces of fabric that circle her neck like a halter top to keep it on her thin frame. The shirt ends just at her waist, a small amount of skin showing as the torso part of her attire hugs her small curves. She adorns her legs with navy blue spandex shorts, making flexibility an option. For shoes, she wears open toe sandals, a small heel at the bottom to give her attire a more feminine look. With this task done, she moved towards the bathroom. After quickly washing herself in the shower, she put on her clothes and left her hair to dry on its own. Deciding to walk around town, she grabbed an apple and piece of bread and left.
The girl was growing weary as she looked at the working people tend to their stands and gossip. Her eyes fell on two older looking shinobis, their hitates shining with village pride. They spoke just above a whisper, one of the men leaning against a stand that was selling an assortment of vegetables. Slightly intrigued by their secretive demeanors, she decided to spy. It wasn’t like she was doing much damage anyway…
Walking to the stand, she acted as though she were minding her own business, her eyes looking at the produce as if she actually cared. The man closest to her had his back to her as he spoke to his comrade, as he was obviously excited about something…
”You don’t understand. This sword is unbreakable. It’s one of the infamous swords!”
The man he was speaking to rose his eyebrows at this as he whistled in amazement.
“That does sound nice. Where is this thing?” The man whose back was to her seemed exasperated as he looked about, making sure it was safe to talk. Just above a whisper, he spoke to his friend.
“I told you. It’s deep within the forest of Dokugakure. Since that’s the old Land of Fire. Anyway, you have to defeat this big ass snake that’s guarding it! I’m determined to get this bad boy…” The man stated as he punched his hand in determination. Raising an eyebrow at this information, Brielle smirked slightly. This sounded like a great opportunity. Placing the vegetable she had in her hand back onto the stand, the girl quickly sprinted back towards her domain.
Being that it is usually empty, the girl ran in with her shoes on, disregarding the normal rules of the house. It’s not like her father would notice anyway. Ever since he became a jounin, he was out on more lengthy missions, and a dirty house was the least of his concerns. It was always her mother that upheld that rule anyhow. She felt a swelling of anxiety and excitement in her stomach as she quickly packed her bag filled with any necessities for her journey. Yes, she realizes what she is doing is somewhat messed up, due to the fact that this man really wanted this sword. First come first serve, is what her brothers would always say. Smirking at that, she slung the bag over her shoulders, placing her katana on her left side as she combed her hands fingers through her hair. Breathing a sigh, she overlooked herself in the mirror, her striking blue eyes shining with determination. She was ready.
A light wind passed as a hooded figure walked along a foreign dirt road. Piercing sapphire optics looked ahead, emotionless and steady as they surveyed the outlying area. The woodland was unfamiliar to her as she walked, her body adorned with her usual ninja attire. Her sandals hit the dirt, sending small clouds of dust behind her. Her body was somewhat sore from this several day journey. Sighing, she let her mind wander a bit. A small amount of anxiety passed through her system. This was her first time truly leaving her village with no regard for anything else but her self gain. Grunting, she paused, her eyes falling on a large gate. The sudden anxiety left her form as she trudged forward, her eyes set on the road ahead.
The girl sighed, her body worn from her journey. Sitting on a bench, she had removed her shoes, her head falling into the palms of her hands. She had just spent the past hour trying to get past the guards, their questioning troublesome and quite annoying. Finally, she had managed to get through all their questions as she stepped foot into the once famous Konohagakure. She had only looked around shortly, noticing it was somewhat dreary around the area. Grunting, she shrugged it off as she dropped herself onto this bench where she now sat, her body aching as it called for sleep. The girl couldn’t help but think about this village compared to her own. She enjoyed the salty air and even though it had a poor reputation in the past, the village was home. Seeing as this place was constantly changing, the girl found this place hard to adjust to. With that small thought the girl managed to stand as she stretched her tired legs, placing her sandals back on while shifting the weight in the bag on her back. Looking around, she chose a road she found suitable. Seeing as though there was only one other way to go, she sent her feet shuffling in that direction. While walking through the paved streets, the girl came across a sign that stated their was an inn. Knowing she would most likely not be able to fight the supposedly large ‘snake creature’ that guarded her target, she decided this would be her best option. Walking in, she took note of the place. It was small, yet a bit homey as there were a few waiting chairs and a welcome sign while a woman sat at a desk, supposedly reading a book. Though, from where Brielle stood, it looked as though the middle-aged woman were sleeping. Giving the woman a look, she tapped the task, causing the woman to jolt up in surprise. As she collected herself, Brielle tilted her head, knowing that her assumption was indeed, true. The woman was pretty, Brielle would give her that. She had long pin-straight black locks and dark violet eyes hidden behind rimless frames. Taking her money and handing her a key, the teen nodded to the woman, who in turn ignored her. Walking in, the girl noticed that the room was simple and nothing she would consider extravagant. She had gotten her money’s worth. Which, in all honesty, wasn’t much after all. There was a double bed with navy blue covers. White walls with mold cut on the top and bottom surrounded the perimeter of the room. There was bathroom present and a side table beside the bed. After removing her foot wear and changing into a spare pair of pajamas, she sat on the bed and drifted into a deep and dreamless sleep.
Packing her bag for this journey, the girl couldn’t help but feel restless. This journey would test her and her abilities. Grunting, she hoisted the bag over her shoulders and set out into the unfamiliar village. Her eyes keen, she looked for a civilian she could possibly talk to. Seeing an older aged man sitting and talking to his, what she presumed to be, his wife, she decided to approach them. With a friendly smile present on her face, she gave a slight bow towards them, as she interrupted their conversing.
“I’m sorry to interrupt. Do you mind telling me where the forest is?” She asked, her sapphire eyes shining with a politeness about them that seemed to make the older couple swoon. The woman, who seemed much shorter than she, stood, her hands wrinkled with age. The small age folds on her face moved as she contorted it in concern.
“Oh dear. I wouldn’t go in there if I were you. There is a creature deep within that forest. If it gets to you, it will surely kill you!” The woman exclaimed, clutching Brielle’s hand with her weak and fragile ones. Casting her eyes to the side, the girl noticed her husband nodding in agreement in the background. Sighing, Brielle took the woman’s hand, holding it sternly.
“It’s alright. I’m looking to kill the beast. I just need to know how to get there.” She stated, locking eyes with the woman to make sure she knew she was indeed serious. A moment of silence passed as the woman seemed conflicted. She wasn’t sure whether she should risk the young girl’s life by telling her what she needs to know, or trust the girl that she will kill this beast and allow the village to live in piece, knowing the beast is no longer lingering it’s conniving fangs deep within the forest of her beloved village. Sighing, the woman nodded, her voice above a whisper as she pulled Brielle closer to her small, old frame.
“Go down this road.” She pointed straight ahead with a small, shaky finger, “It leads you straight to the forest. Once you reach the forest, look to the high treetops, where a silver-winged hawk will swoop down from the trees. From there, the hawk will lead you to the beast.” The woman finished her sentence, pulling away and staring at Brielle. Nodding, the girl flashed the couple a smile.
“Have faith in me. I can do this.” She stated, bowing as she thanked the woman who in turn, sent her a wave as Brielle moved down the road the old female had pointed out to her.
Half an hour passed and Brielle finally came across the beginning of the forest. It seemed as though she were passing into a different dimension, the line between the forest and the village a drastic contrast. As she crossed over the line of the forest, Brielle held her breath. She couldn’t help but feel the nerves building in her core. Grunting, Brielle looked up. Seeing nothing, she frowned. She had come all this way, and the woman had lied. Either that, or the sword was already recovered. Either way, she bit her lip, the idea of failing nagging at her heart. She was anything but a failure. Clenching her fists, she felt her nails digging into her skin, her eyes turning a dark blue as anger boiled within her.
A sudden squawk caused the girl’s head to shoot up in surprise. Looking around frantically, she looked up. A reflection was seen as the sun bounced off of a solid coming towards her. Holding the sheath of her katana, she narrowed her eyes trying to see the mass heading towards her from the sky. The mass came and swooped down past her, causing her hair to become lifted with the passing wind it created. The bird landed on the grass below, turning and cocking it’s head to the side. It’s silver wings glistened with the peaking sun as Brielle identified it as a hawk. Smiling, the girl walked towards it, her arms by her side. The bird seemed to call out to her as it suddenly took flight again. Instead of remaining above the tree tops, it swooped above, below, and around branches. The female sprinted to keep up with the animal, as it chirped every now and then, looking back to make sure she was keeping up.
Less than an hour passed when the bird let out a large squawk as it suddenly flew off, causing Brielle to halt in her tracks. Grunting, she looked ahead and felt her jaw drop, her large sapphire optics wide with shock. The large beast was a giant snake. The noise from the bird caused it to awake, its eyes opening, revealing yellow eyes, and black slits. It’s eyelids were black, and the skin of the snake was a dark forest green. On it’s back, Brielle could see small circles of a sickening yellow and black scattered across in no particular pattern. The large beast hissed as it uncoiled and let it’s body extend upwards towards the sky. She was always terrible at estimating heights and widths, so she she just assumed that this large mass-filled animal was wider then her own length. It’s tongue shot out as it produced a hissing sound. Brielle took a step back, it’s height being a bit intimidating compared to her own. The beast rose, and seemed to be about the length of the trees that surrounded her. With a hiss, it moved it’s body in the air, as if telling her to leave before he ate her. It was either that, or to stay in order for him to eat her. Either way, he wanted her in his stomach. From her little knowledge on snakes, she knows that small holes lie in between the teeth. From there, when their prey is bitten, they release the venom into their meal, either killing them or paralyzing them so that they can swallow it easier. As she thought about this, she bit her lower lip. If he were to bite her, she would die due to a lack of an antidote. If she managed to not get bitten, she wasn’t going to doubt the fact that the snake could easily swallow her whole. Sighing at this, she became a bit frustrated. Looking towards the large serpent, she swallowed hard, her eyes narrowing as she took two small steps to the right. Suddenly, it snatched its neck out towards her, his mouth open and ready to engulf her. With a quick movement of her legs, the girl jumped the side, skidding to a stop. Her crystalline blue optics were wide as her clothes became dirty with the damp dirt now sticking to her form. The large snake skidded through the damp mud, as Brielle heard the sound of breaking bark, the snake’s mouth clamping down on one of the large trees. Swallowing hard, the girl froze as the massive mass of the snake shifted, it’s body swerving towards her at an alarming rate. Grunting, the girl quickly pulled her katana from it’s sheath. The snake opened it’s large mouth in a hurry as Brielle charged it. Jumping upwards, the girl flipped, making a slash towards the snake’s head. It hardly made a scratch as the snake stopped, coiling his body to snap at her. Being that she was just finishing her flip, the girl made a sound of surprise. Holding her katana outwards, the female slashed at the snake. Being more successful this time, the snake hissed in annoyance and anger towards Brielle, his distaste growing as he seemed infuriated by her living and fighting presence. Snapping its head towards her, he caught her off guard. Hitting the girl, she went flying towards the floor. Hitting it with a great amount of force, the girl tumbled as she tried to stop herself, her hand finally latching onto a crater in the dirt. As she finally stopped, the girl coughed, her ribs and head sore from the impact. Shakily, she stood, a few pants coming from her petite form. She could have sworn she saw the beastly snake smirking down at her. A growing rage formed in her core as she charged towards the beast, aiming for his coiled body that lay perfectly atop each other in layers of slimy skin. Holding her katana tightly by the hilt, the female made a slash towards it’s body, her eyes filled with determination as a new found strength began to emerge from deep within her. The snake’s large head turned, his eyes narrowing as the sits in his eyes moved in quick thought. Lashing it’s head out towards the girl, he quickly used his fangs to grabs the sharp katana from her, flinging it over his body and the trees to a destination unknown at this point. A yelp of surprise came from the girl as his large body coiled around her, trying desperately to deprive her of oxygen. Thankfully, her hands were free. With quick motions, the girl made sure she used precision and chakra control. Suddenly, ice formed around her, turning into birds. Shining with hints of blue, their sharp wings glistened. Sending them flying towards the large serpent, the girl gasped as on the birds slashed towards his eyes, leaving it bleeding. His body became lose and the girl used the opportunity to escape. Pushing herself free from his tight bounds, she bounced atop his head. Looking around, she could find no sword. Brielle was becoming flustered. There had to be a sword. It was impossible to have this large creature alive and to make it away with the sword! Unless…It wasn’t. The girl let her eyes fall on the crying snake, his eyes shut tightly as a blood trail could be seen from the eyes of it. He was crying blood. The idea brought her back to the boy she once met, his eyes crying tears of red as they stained his beautiful cheeks. Shaking him from her thoughts, she quickly allowed herself to maneuver away from the snake. Sighing, she tried to think of a plan as she looked about the area for anything that even resembled a sword. This was becoming a lot more annoying than she had thought. Standing, she narrowed her eyes at the increasingly agitated snake. As it opened its eyes, Brielle could see the beginning of cataracts forming on the snake, his once sickly yellow hues now splattered with his own blood, the black slits no longer moving. This enabled the girl to think that the snake was indeed blind. Smirking, the girl made sure to be completely quiet. Walking to go around the bulky reptile, Brielle took steps of caution. She made sure to step lightly, not wanting her footsteps to cause vibrations that the snake could feel. She swallowed hard, her body, becoming tense with the growing nerves she was feeling. The blind snake, for whatever reason, scared her more then the one that could see. She figured it was his now sickly appearance, and now that he was more angry than before, she figured his antics would be much more sinister and deadly. A bead of sweat trailed down her porcelain skin, her eyes narrowed in deep thought and concentration, making sure to make next to no noise. Suddenly, a snap was heard beneath the girl, her eyes widening as the serpent’s head snapped in her direction. Looking down, the girl silently cursed the twig’s being. It was almost like a comedic skit really, though the hilarity of the situation wasn’t present. This was a life and death situation, and the twig may have just caused her demise. With a loud hiss, the mouth of the snake opened. With not much time to dodge, the girl felt the mouth of the snake engulf her. Swallowing her small being, the girl felt his rigged tongue hit her, much to her despair. The width of the snake was somewhat large. Brielle used her nails to dig into the esophagus of the serpent. Grumbling, she silently prayed, small tears pricking the edges of her eyes. She hated to think that she died by being eaten alive, never having achieved her goal, leaving her father and Raigon behind. All of these things coursed through her brain in the minute she was down there. The thickness in the air caused her to cough, her wavy blonde locks sticking to her face and back while her clothes were soaked and dirtied from the tiring fight she had just endured. Looking downward, it seemed as though the snake was endless. A grey object caught her off guard, her eyes catching sight of what she thought looked like a sword. Carefully sliding down the snake, she felt a yelp escape from her throat. The hilt of a sword was in full view, its sheath lodged into the stomach of the beast. A smile became evident on her face as she yelled in triumph. Though, she would still need to escape this large reptile. Cheering herself on, a sudden adrenaline rush caused her to feel a power she had never felt before. Sliding down the sticky esophagus, the girl reached out with her left hand towards the sword. A sudden movement of the throat caused the girl to fall. Yelling, she quickly grabbed the hilt that seemed to keep her from falling into the acidic content of the serpents inner belly. Grunting in annoyance, she used what little strength she had left to pull the sword from the stomach. A bit more shuffling occurred as the girl paused, using the sword to stretch out. Now horizontal, the girl’s combined length and the length of the sword was enough to keep her and the mystical sword from falling. Breathing a sigh of relief, the girl caught her breath, her heart pounding against her ribcage as she began to feel lightheaded. The fumes from the acid in his abdomen and her combined fatigue were starting to get to her. Suddenly, an idea erupted as the girl smirked. Since the sword was lodged within the sticky binds of the snake, she swung her body from her side of the snake, swinging her knees over the sheath of the sword. Quickly doing handsigns, a layer of ice started to form around the girl. Forcing more chakra into it, it grew larger as the stomach of the beast grew. Finally, it gave way, spike shooting from the large beast. A cry was heard as it shook the innards that Brielle remained. From her point of view, she waited. Shaken suddenly, she dispelled her technique, panting, A hole was formed from the large spikes her jutsu caused. Grabbing the hilt of the kusanai, she moved through the large glands of the snake, coming out of him and breathing a sigh of relief. She panted, trying to take in the freshness the air provided. She coughed before sitting up and staring at the sword in her hand and then towards the large dead serpent that lay spread across the forest floor. Grabbing the sheath, she slowly took it off to reveal what looked to be a normal sword. It was a bit longer and apparently unbreakable. Sighing and standing, the girl looked at her tattered and wet clothing. Grunting, she walked shakily to find her katana and leave this god forsaken village, hoping to shower and sleep in her own bed soon enough.
