| Amy sighed as her chains jingled from amidst her waist and her corset. The black of her clothing standing out stronger than a sore thumb on her petite frame. The reddish pink hair was piled into a sort of bun with a ponytail flip at the top, allowing the bottom of the shoulder length hair to flip outwards slightly. The bangs curved around and beneath her forehead, easily covering the scar on her left eye with the way it dipped in its motions to be placed behind her ear. The platforms she wore made loud sort of thuds as she trudged through the island. A sort of slishy, sloshing sound coming from inside followed by smacks. A sound of disgruntled-ness befell her lips. Her eyes with all their shades of green and blue, a hint of gold thrown in staring down at her leaden feet. The weight of the water was weighing her down. Of course her bad luck had brought her to this point. Coming to do this mission she'd taken a boat and guess what? It tipped over and left her drenched. She, herself had mostly dried now, but a lot of water still rolled around in her boots. The sting of having such exposure for so long stung her soles slightly.
Taking a break from walking, she sat down on an abandoned rock upon the back of this ancient turtle. Her hands working angrily at yanking the boots off of her feet. Her eyes watched in annoyance as a wave of water seemed to continually pour from the boots, draining until they were remotely dry. With a grunt she tossed them aside then pulled off her striped stockings and let out a sigh of relief. She stood up and looked around. There was someone sent to help on this mission. She could go alone from here, but she didn't want to risk coming back to save someone else along with the little girl. That would be annoying. So crossing her legs, she rested her chin in her palm and sat there., awaiting the man or woman's appearance. The wind blew on occasion, giving the hot air a brief coolness, if only temporarily. She chewed her lip impatiently, as if she had more important things to do. In a way it was possible, but nonetheless, she needed the money. Her eyes narrowed and she quickly ran her tongue across her lips. She hoped her 'partner' on this mission would be here soon.

| Rei, tired and pissed, was walking towards the meeting spot. He was having a bit of a bad day. His clothes were tattered from getting in a scrap with some wild cats, no visible wounds on him. He had to switch to his spare clothing, which consisted of some white shorts with a white shirt on. It was thin white shirt, so sweat visibly soaked through it. Luckily, it wasn't too heavy on his frame. It was unbearably hot to him, sweat pouring off of his body as if an eternal raincloud was pouring rain on him. Though he didn't stink, like people usually do when they sweat profusely. His snow white hair hugged his frame as his soft, ebony colored skin seemed to darken with the light. His blue eyes showed behind his glasses, not really needing them, but it helped make him look more sophisticated.
Then, he saw the person he was supposed to do the mission with. A woman, who had seemingly gotten wet. By the smell from his range, and the boat he saw tipped over in the water, he ventured to guess that the boat had tipped over while she was in it. He saw it drifting off, further and further into the horizon. He sighed, knowing that the job wouldn't be all too easy now. He sighed a bit, coming out into the open now, looking at the girl then looking at the horizon. "So, you're my partner?" Rei said, the annoyed tone in his voice hiding itself. His voice seemed a bit empty, distant. "Now that the boat's out of commission, I guess we have to swim." Rei said very matter-of-factly, looking and seeing menacing figures in the waters above. He knew they were sharks. He knew this beforehand because he scanned the area before hand on maps, getting some info. "Shall we go?"

| Amy's eyes were locked on the horizon. What was it she needed to do? Something about finding and saving a little girl.. Yeah that sounded about right. The rain above missed her as she sat beneath the palms of a tree. She wasn't nearly as hot as she could have been and her body had only limited traces of sweat, seeing as she'd been drenched already. She'd go barefoot though. Any longer in her water-logged boots would drive her mad. A sound of an approaching person perked her ears. Was it the little girl? Had she found Amy before the mission started? Of course not. The slight hint of interest faded from her shining eyes as they fell on a pissed man in white. She felt sort of amused, contrasting him in her black outfit. Her bangs plastered to her face as she let out a huff, blowing said bangs away only to have them drop once again in her eyes.
She stared at the man almost blankly as he spoke, her lips still moving as she chewed on them. In her mind, she probed the mind of Seryth, who would be miles and miles away. She wondered what he was up to, but alas his mind was shut away from her as usual. She pouted, upset that he controlled her ability better than herself. Closing the odd colored eyes of hers, she listened to the man's words and found his smart-ass attitude a little irritating. Then again, Amy found a lot of things irritating. Shrugging off her own annoyance, she pushed herself to her feet. The pleated skirt she wore move with a gentle motion across her lap in tune with the noise her chains made. Her eyes closed as she simply turned and began walking, not leaving an answer to his words. Her footsteps were swift but quiet, even more-so than usual do to the lacking of her creaky, wet boots. Her body showing that she had been turned off of conversation with him and simply wanted to get this done and over with. She allowed her eyes to browse to and fro, the outfit she wore somehow covering almost all of her body despite the fact it look skimpy to some. She had made sure that nothing could be seen, almost as if she was hiding something beneath the layers of fishnet and chains. However no one would ask as her simple glare gave them the chills to run. Her aura that of some one who'd slit your throat in your sleep. Oh how ironic that was... "Are you good at tracking?" Was the only thing she said while she walked in the remotely silent rain.

| Rei sighed, shaking his head. Not that he cared, but he did want to at least get along with her to make the mission move along smoothly. If something went down, he wanted to know she had his back. He didn't feel like being stabbed in the back (literally) by a teammate again. He sighed and shaked his head, tightening the gloves on his hands as he watched the girl stroll away. She was a strange one to him. He just shrugged and looked around a bit, seeing if he could find tracks. What he did know is that they were looking for a little girl. He sighed a bit, turning his attention to his "partner", looking at her.
"No, I'm not a tracker nin, but I have a hunch on where she is." Rei said, looking at her straight with no ill-will in his eyes or form, just emptiness. "There are no recent tracks that would correspond to a person being here other than ours and hunters that come here regularly. From my intel from books and eyewitness reports of this area, there should be an island just a mile or two off the coast of this place. The time she disappeared corresponds with the time that the Sharks usually migrate away from this area due to lack of food. As I can see, there are some sharks in this water, but not as many as usual. Since the boat is trashed, we'll have to swim over there, or build a bridge of sticks and remains. I'd suggest we swim, because there doesn't seem to be enough stuff here to build a bridge with, well, not a sturdy one at least." Rei said, keeping eye contact with her the entire time.

| Her body moved agilely, elegantly despite the way she seemed to look almost evil. Her eyes were towards him a moment as he spoke and she had stopped moving to listen. However she found it odd staring into some man's eyes and her connection with them faded off and on. Her looks showed she felt completely awkward with working with anyone. Her eyes shot at him sideways as she nodded, he made a point. She didn't like it though. She didn't like to go swimming. Though it didn't matter since she was already drenched. She'd have to removed the chains though.. It'd be a little difficult to swim with their added weight. Her hands moved and she she quickly began snapping off the silver metals and allowed them to slip through her dainty fingers. Her motions were lacking in feminine ways, but she somehow held a cold elegance. Her toes wiggled on the ground and enjoyed the rain for a moment before she turned and looked at him. She seemed to look right through him with her feline-like eyes.
Suddenly she turned and stepped back five steps. A second she stood there before she took a running start. Her legs carried her fast as she formed into a dive pose, leaping in the air, allowing her hands to take the impact. She disappeared beneath the waves before she came to the surface, coughing and hacking a bit. Her hair once again drenched as she tread water, looking towards the man expectantly. Her eyes in their usual half-closed relaxation. She sighed as her breath went back to normal, wiping her lips on her wrist. Not that that'd help. "You talk too much." She said, trying to project it further. "Now hurry and let's get going." She continued treading water, shivering slightly as the sharp skin ran across her foot. It only scraped, didn't leave a cut. "Try not to get hurt." She said a little softer, waiting. She hoped he didn't take too long, because getting sick was not on her list of things to do. Simply swimming there she timed how long it would take the man. Her clothes definitely not the best to take a dip in. Her eyes stared at the waters as the shadows danced beneath her. It was slightly intimidating, but not enough to make her flee.

| Rei smirked a bit, putting his pack to the side, kunai at his side as he took a deep breath, casting his jacket aside. He had seen the chains she discarded earlier, wondering some things. Why did she wear such heavy things? Maybe she was a taijutsu expert? Maybe she was a masochistic freak who liked things like chains. He may never know. He just shrugged it off mentally, his hands cutting through the water silently. He made not a bit of sound as he went into the water, swimming underwater for recon. There were 5 sharks circling under them. They had not taken too much of a notice to the intruders, but he could tell they were keeping a close smell on them.
He noticed one get close to the woman, ready to move if it decided to take a nip at her. He was glad it didn't as he swam silently in the water, just seemingly appearing right beside her. He wiped his white hair to the side, out of his line of vision. "Maybe you just talk too little." Rei said with a bit of dry humor, starting to swim, keeping a steady pace. He surpressed his killing intent to make sure the sharks didn't go into a frenzy. Though, his form seemed to just radiate killing intent as if it was normal, and not just any old killing intent though. Frenzied, extreme murderous intent, like he just wanted to rip everything and everyone to shreds. He looked to her. "You coming?" Rei said simply, turning around once and starting to swim again. One of the sharks brushed along his belly, though it didn't leave any wounds. It just tickled a bit.

| Her eyes watched him cast aside his jacket and dive into the water, seemingly amused by her words. Amy frowned. She didn't like that. What was so amusing? In all honesty it pissed her off; seeming to tell her that he didn't take her seriously. Well... she didn't care, or at least she told herself she didn't care. Truly she did and thus was why she was so angry. Her body moved as he spoke. He seemed to be a bit off. Like he hated people almost as much as she did. Almost, not quite. Amy didn't understand this, but seemed undettered by his personality. He sort of reminded her of someone else. The darker side of him though. Her lips twitched again and her eyes narrowed. She seemed like she would defend herself. She wasn't ready to die yet. She'd tried that path before, it didn't work out so well and now.. she had something more to look forward to. He was special and she'd live another day to aide him in his battles. Even though he usually refused it; her help. She sighed and came back at the feel of another shark brushing to her leg. It was odd to her and felt almost like this creature was coming onto he, but of course that wasn't true it was simply going about its business as she went about hers.
He began swimming past her and she nodded at his question. Again silence befell her lips. She had no intent on conversing with him more than necessary. She simply wanted to get to the island, get the girl and get her money. Of course doing so alive would be the most promising part. Being shark lunch was not something she looked forward to. Her body carried her swiftly across the waters to the island. It slowly came into view and she let off a sigh of relief. In her ears she could hear the shouts of the little girl. She cried for help and Amy just for a second pitied her. She wanted to help her; to get her out of this situation. Her body trudged to the shore, sinking in the sand as she pulled herself through the landmass and stumbled slightly to regain her land legs. Her eyes wiry as she looked back and forth for any signs of movement. The little girl was here somewhere, waiting and hoping for a savior. Amy didn't want to be a hero, but she wouldn't let a child die. Some sort of maternal instinct? Perhaps.. but more so than not she didn't want to tell the family members that the little girl was dead.

| Rei swam silently both above and below water, noticing them getting closer and closer to the island. He was glad that they hadn't suffered any injuries beforehand; that would have made things much more difficult if they did. He beached himself, walking into the hot sand, the warm substance under his bear feet burning the soft flesh. He gritted his teeth, seeing the girl crying out for help, wanting to get away from the island. He looked around a bit, seeming to look for something, taking out his kunai. He dug a bit. No animals. This would make things more difficult. He needed something to distract the attention of the sharks.
Then he thought of something. He saw one of the sharks coming towards the island, like it had some kind of killing intent. He looked towards the woman. "When I say so, take the girl and swim like hell if you can." Rei said, picking up a small crab and throwing it up in the air, having cut it so it leaked out a bit of blood to lure the shark closer. He started doing a couple handsigns, taking in a deep breath, using his eyes to say "Now!" in sign language, the beast coming up to catch its prize, a powerful blast of light chakra going into the gaping jaws of the beast, a kunai following afterwards, both destroying the innards of the beast and knocking it back a good 1/3 of a mile or so, being cut up inside as well from the kunai, the blood leaking out of the shark's mouth, drawing its brethren to its corpse. The feast began as Rei jumped into the water silently again, motioning them to come before the sharks finished feasting and would want more.

| Amy saw the little girl and a wave of relief washed over her secretly. How enthused she was to find the child unharmed. She could see the petite body in torn clothes but otherwise she was unharmed. Her small and round face showing some panic and fear but no scratches, bumps or cuts. Amy secretly thanked what god should it exist as she approached the little girl. Her body moved her legs and she managed to pull herself into a kneels as she gently placed a hand on the girl's head. She was silently comforting the small child, gently stroking her hair as she cried. It made Amy feel awkward, but she felt she could relate to her, after all she had been abandoned at one point as well. Though... hers wasn't so literal. She wiped her lip softly and sighed, hesitantly wrapping an arm around the middle of the small girl and allowing her to bury her face in her shoulder. She wasn't used to being kind, but this situation forced her hand. Silently she coaxed the child onto her back and realized something that made her facepalm. It was going to be difficult swimming in the water with a little girl on her back. Unfortunately any other way would be just as difficult. The thought posed a problem. Amy didn't have much of a choice though. Her body weaved to the shoreline once more and she hurried through the water, wading as best she could with her bothered balance.
At last she reached a depth she could swim and as she heard her 'partner' do something, she began swimming as fast as she could. It was sad really, Amy could smell the blood. She hoped the boy would be okay, if only for a second. It didn't really matter to the mission, but Amy wasn't one for feeling indebted to someone. The boy was trying to get this mission done by any costs. Amy should do the same, yet.. she was the one swimming with a small girl on her back. There was nothing really she could do though. Her hands were tied in a literal sense. As she reached shore once more, she stopped and allowed the girl to slide down to the ground. It was then she realized she'd forgotten her chains and boots. It made her sigh, but she knew she could find more. Her eyes turned to the little girl and she forced a small smile before turning and staring once more at the ocean. Her eyes probed for the boy who'd started this mission with her. What exactly had he done? She wasn't sure, she just knew it involved some sort of blood that frenzied the sharks.

| Rei saw that his partner had gone ahead without him, a bit of a smirk on his face as he dived down to a suitable level, not wanting to get in the way of the feasting sharks. He swam silently, almost like any regular fish, cutting through the water like a blade as he swam. His mind was clear and his eyes were open, even though the salty water stung his eyes. He kept swimming, hoping that feeding frenzy didn't end. He came up every once in a while to get a breath, and kept swimming, seeing the girl and his partner ahead. He had to make sure that they made it safely to the shore. That was the top priority.
He saw one shark starting to break away, then dart at the two. Rei guessed that two meals were better than one. Rei grunted as he exerted force and swam upward, doing handsigns as he took in a deep gulp of air, going down again, seeing the shark en route to the girls. He fired another ball of light at the shark, the shark narrowly dodging but being knocked in a daze as Rei started to swim faster. A bit of blood leaked from the shark's side and a tooth cut through the water from being knocked on the side by the ball, cutting straight through the right calf muscle of Rei's leg. He was so close to the shore, he couldn't stop now! He swam faster still, even through the burning pain, now being chased by sharks. He burst out of the water, running (well hopping) onto the shore, laying down on his stomach, panting. The sharks looked annoyed as they let a meal get away, slinking back into the depths.

| Amy watched with vague interest as she saw swimming. For a moment she wondered if the sharks would come onto land, but that was just silly. Her mind quickly discarded that thought and absent-mindedly she stroked the small girl's hair. She could feel her tiny body pressed into the folds of Amy's damp, no drenched clothes. Her heart still hammering from the heavy beating and lengthy exercise of the swim. Panic had proceeded to escalate things further still making her heart a small hummingbird in her ribcage. She could smell blood, salt and algae. Her hand gently held the little girl's back, slowly stroking it as instinct. So she was good with children.. that would be something she'd never admit to Seryth. Oddly colored as usual, her eyes found themselves locked on the man as he stumbled out of the water. He was bleeding and it made Amy wonder. How did he survive an assault on from these animals with a limp like that. After all walking was hard enough with a limp, but wouldn't that make swimming damn near impossible. Amy thought so, but she said nothing. In her eyes she held a sort of flicker of relief, glad to know he was okay and that she wouldn't have to explain that the boy was dead.
Her body moved strange and awkwardly as the girl clung to Amy's shivering body. Her mind refusing to acknowledge the cold of water. Leaning down she gripped the man's leg and in a movement so quick, though lacking in gentleness, she wrapped it with the only spare pieces of fabric she could find. It wouldn't stop the bleeding, but would slow it enough. Straightening herself she glared at him in the eye. "Now we're square. Report to the mission holder when you get there and get your money." Her voice cold as usual almost enough so to intimidate most. Her body spun and she began trailing off. Swiftly and somewhat elegantly she marched off into the distance. Her very aura the same as before, uncaring and unfeeling yet to her side a small girl toddled like an infant with their mother. The woman didn't seem to mind, though the child was obviously not hers and after dropping off the girl at home, she received her pay and Amy acted as if the event had never happened.

| Rei had blacked out for a half second in the sand, pushing himself up only to fall back down on his face. He was tired, and his leg hurt like hell. He didn't want to turn over, because he knew he would get sand in his wound. He inched his head up, getting some air into his lungs and looking at the two girls, smiling a bit to the younger one, using every bit of will in his body to push himself up to a sitting position. He felt a rough hand on his leg and he flinched in pain, feeling the blood flow lessen. He smiled a bit, though it was an empty smile, as he got up, standing up straight.
"I thank you for your assistance. Maybe we'll be on the same path again." Rei said, walking with a bad limp. He got his stuff, and waved, sighing and shaking his head. "That girl has a dim light in her heart. Though, I can tell something is making it grow stronger." Rei said to himself, slinging his pack over his shoulder and heading back to his village, literally collapsing at the gates from blood loss and being healed up and paid in full.
